King Slender mk II

The King Slender mark II is a dual utility module in 8HP. The top half is a voltage-controlled slew limiter. There is a gate input that switches between the slewed and unprocessed voltages. The CV input is normaled to the slew output, so without an external voltage input, the attenuverter knob bends the curve of the processor to the logarithmic or exponential.

The bottom half of the module is a three-input mixer. Each channel has an attenuverter and a soft mute switch. There is a master VCA that processes the entire mix, with an attenuverting CV input. The VCA is a simple discrete transistor design with some signal coloration at higher levels.

The two halves of the module are normaled together. The pre-VCA output of the mixer is sent to the slew input, and the slew's output is sent to the VCA's CV input. When you enable the slew's rectify switch and turn the VCA attenuverter to the negative, the module then functions as a snappy feedforward compressor without any additional patch cords.
